Mt Everest Buddies
For my inquiry learning task we are focusing on Exceptional kiwis and how they showed perseverance. For one of my tasks I am to list 2 people that I would like to take if I was climbing to the top of Mt Everest and why.
Here is who I would take:
- Sir Edmund Hillary, I would take the Sir Edmund as one of my compannions as he was the first ever person to climb Mt Everest and he would have plenty of knowledge about surviving in the tough conditions.
- Dad, taking my Dad would be very comforting and I just know that he would make me laugh the whole way there!
That is who I would take on my journey to the top!

World War Two
Hey guys! I am having to choose 2 dates from WW2 and write a summary of them.
September 3rd 1939,
It all started on the day Adolf Hitler leads his German army to invade Poland - September 1st 1939.
The war only lasted about 1 month before the Nazis took hold of victory. France and Britain, both allies of Poland, then declared war on Germany with the help of New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand and Australia were both parts of the British Empire, so that meant when Britain was at war, so was New Zealand and Australia.
September 15th 1940,
On this Sunday, the Luftwaffe (German defensive aircraft) launched its largest attack on London, in an attempt to draw out RAF into a battle of annihilation. About 1,500 aircraft took part in the battle. This action was the most intense part of the Battle of Britain.

Jack Hinton- Victoria Cross Recipient.
Jack Hinton earned his VC whilst serving in Greece. In April 1941, he was with a large group of British and NZ troops, awaiting their evacuation. When the Germans attacked and many were ordered to retreat, Jack argued against the fact of backing down and charged two enemy field guns with hand grenades!
He then invaded two houses, killing every German inside. However, not long afterwards he was shot in the stomach and was taken prisoner of war. While in prison, Hinton escaped twice and had many further attempts. Jack was told he had been awarded a VC when he was laying in a hosspital bed trying to recover from a beating after one of his attempts to escappe.

Narrative Writing
At home, for the past 3 days we have been looking at narrative and the structure of a narrative. At the end we had to write a narrative about a picture displayed in the slide deck. Enjoy!
My Superhero Name
If I was a super hero and I had to choose a name for myself, I would probably choose the name Secrecy. Why? You may ask. Because earlier this year I posted 3 superpowers I would like to have and those powers can be very secret- nobody knows.
